Seygo Go Tournament İstanbul 2024

You’re invited to the SEYGO Istanbul Tournament 2024 organized by Istanbul Go School, under the auspices of the European Go Federation and with the support of the Turkish Go Association, in the 6th season of SEYGO, held in Istanbul.

The tournament will take place at the Maltepe Campus of Anabilim Educational Institutions, our venue sponsor.

The main tournament will consist of 5 rounds. You can visit the EGF website for the SEYGO regulations applicable in the tournament. Participants may choose which events/activities they would like to join (main Tournament, blitz Tournament, other workshops etc.)

There will be two age groups: U12 & U18.
U12 is for players born on or after 1st of January 2012 and U18 is for players born on or after 1st of January 2006.

• 

  Ayvalık Summer Go Camp, June 24-28, 2024

  The first two boards will be broadcast live, and there will be online analysis of the tournament by a professinal player, which will be streamed in the tournament waiting hall for parents and children to watch.

• For parents and beginners, there will be beginner Go lessons from 14.00 to 15.00 on both Saturday and Sunday.
• Throughout Saturday and Sunday, there will be free Go boards and board games available for those who finish their rounds early or have time between rounds
• There will also be workshops (like origami or painting) for early finishers, and children can play garden and ball games in the garden during their free time. All these activities will be supervised by an instructor or organizer.

SenseRobot will be with our participating students throughout the Go tournament.

Trip Information

Participation Fee

15 euros for every playing participant. payment can only be made in cash during the final registration at the tournament venue on Saturday morning, October 19th.

Accommodation

The hotel we have partnered with for the tournament is Macity Hotel. It is 4 km away from our tournament venue.

Hotel rates until Tuesday, September 10, 2024, are as follows:

• Double rooms with breakfast included: 1,800 TL per day (approximately 50€ at the current exchange rate)
• Triple rooms with breakfast included: 2,100 TL per day (approximately 60€ at the current exchange rate)
• Quadruple rooms with breakfast included: 2,500 TL per day (approximately 70€ at the current exchange rate)

Tournament Venue

You can contact the hotel for reservations. Please remember to mention “for the Go tournament or Istanbul Go School” in your reservation message so they can provide the best rooms for our participants. Participants are welcome to stay at different hotels, but it is recommended to stay at the same hotel as other participants for easier integration into the organization.

Shuttle (Between Hotel and Tournament Place)

Although the Macity hotel-tournament venue distance is 4 km, it is not suitable for walking. A shuttle service is available for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a round-trip fee of around 15€ per person for all three days in total. The shuttle fee does not include airport-hotel transfers. We will assist you about your airport-hotel transfers.

Airports

There are two international airports in Istanbul: New Istanbul airport (IST) on the European side of the city and Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) on the Asian side. Sabiha Gökçen Airport is easier to reach from the hotel and tournament venue, and we will assist you with airport transfer.
